[After a moment or so of hesitation, Xiaolang accepts Kuro's silent invitation to join him, setting himself quietly on the floor nearby. His legs cross beneath him, but his hands wind up settling on his shins, causing his back to remain stiff and straight, a much less relaxed posture in comparison. Kuro was still a teacher of his, after all, and he didn't want to drop his discipline just because they were on the subject of something other than karate.
He pays close attention when Kuro speaks, however, and while his confession of not being such a good person in this life takes him off-guard, he refrains from asking about it just yet. Maybe it was a personal thing, which wasn't any of his business-- if there's anything he's learned recently, is that prodding into unspoken issues didn't always lead to good results. The advice he gives him is solid and true, though, as expected from Kuro, and Xiaolang nods slowly, turning it over in his head.]
... I feel that way, too. Whatever our other selves have done in that life makes no difference in who we are, here and now. Those things they've done aren't things that we've done, and we shouldn't base our opinions on that. But...
[And here his hands grip into the fabric of his gi, bunching them a little along his legs, thinking of Mio's situation, and his own worries.]
What if other people do? What if someone remembers something you've done, and treats you differently because of it?
