Derek had been planning Cumore's birthday for a while and he is really hoping people show up. He reserved a few tables and has the cake on one of them, with paper plates, utensils and napkins.

A. Gifts

Feel free to give your gift to Cumore here!

B. Birthday Cake!

Derek went out and got a two tier cake for the occasion. He chose this one specifically because it is decorated with Cumore's favorite fruit. Hopefully Cumore will be willing to blow out candles, because Derek brought some. After candles are blown out, feel free to enjoy some cake.

C. Drinking and general mingling

Although Derek has set this all up, he's not paying for your drink. He's not made of money. But feel free to buy yourself a drink and talk with other people that attend.

[Derek smirk only grows bigger.]

So it will come, the compliment? Well, that only means it is true.

[Derek looks at the still wrapped present in Cumore's hand.]

Are you going to open the gift or not? Maybe opening that will bring about the momentous compliment dishing occasion.

It'll come if you meet the criteria. Whether that actually happens is still yet to be seen.

[But yes, yes, he'll open it, all right- ...huh.]

Oh, thank god, it's something useful.

[Cumore, holy shit, you can do better than that surely.]

[Derek smiles. So the gift is a success?]

As if I'd give you something pointless. I actually put thought into my gifts. So... you like it then?

Yes, of course, why wouldn't I -

[God he's just going to be turning the box over and looking at it, he's going to be fiddling with this thing for a while once he's home and can get the damn thing set up.]

I'm glad you like it. Happy birthday Alex.

[Derek looks over at the cake he bought for this thing.]

You know... we still need you to blow out your candles and make a wish.

[Derek holds up two boxes of 24 count candles.]

You're twenty-eight now right?

[Don't even try to get out of this Cumore. You will blow out your birthday candles, Derek will not have it any other way.]

...You are going to create a fire hazard.

[He sounds amused, though.]

Twenty-eight, though, yes.

[Derek shakes his head in amusement as he opens the first box of candles.]

Me? Create a fire hazard? Preposterous.

[Derek starts putting the candles on the cake.]

Besides should a theat of a fire hazard prevent one of my best friends of making his birthday wish? I think not.

[With all twenty-eight candles on the cake, Derek takes out a box of matches.]

Sadly my fire magic might be a bit much to light these candles.

[Striking the match, he starts lighting the candles. Once the match run out room to hold he blows it out and uses on of the lit candles to light the rest. Once done he stands back to admire his work.]

Looks pretty good eh? Now, if you want, I will sing Happy Birthday for you, but I won't if you don't want me to. But you have to make a wish and blow out the candle.

[Though when Cumore does try to blow out the candles he might find it a bit of a chanllenge for there are about five trick candles scattered though out the cake. Surprise!]

...I think I'll pass on the singing, if you don't mind.

[Like. Please. Dear god, let's not.]

That said, I'm admittedly not certain what I should wish for, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Don't worry, I know better than to tell you.

[...He's. Not great at this whole celebrating thing, but you know what, sure, let's just...

...In hindsight, the trick candles shouldn't surprise him, but they do, somewhat; he'll sort them out pretty fast, at least, and Derek is getting a bit of a light shove on the shoulder because god - ]

[Derek tries to hold in his laughter as he watches Cumore try to blow out the trick candles and fails.]

With how much I love a good prank, how did you not see that coming? Oh my gosh your face was priceless! I should have had my phone out to record it!
