[OPEN] April Catch All!!

WHO: Elda Marker and you!!
WHERE: Viea Village around her house, Bosuma, Respatrum, other parts of Recollé
WHEN: All over the month, though the prompts would be focused on like the 10th onward-ish? It's important to note night or day though! The Bosuma one is probably much later in the month.
WHAT: Elda's house has been replaced and then later on she reverts in memory to being a proper vampire if anyone wants to deal with that!
WARNINGS: Please hit up these permissions if you tag in though! In the fourth prompt (the Bosuma one) she'll try to attack people for blood (it won't kill them!) potentially and if people manage to have civil conversation, genocide might come up.

1: Ticketed Mail (Recollé City Prompt from event log)
[ Elda Marker goes out to get her mail this afternoon and... Well. Honestly she's not used to seeing mail in there these days it's just this thing she does in the late afternoon, pretending that her life can still be normal even as she needs to wear a wide brim hat and a parasol just to make it to the end of the driveway without breaking out in hives from the sunlight. That said, she does make it and finds...

A ticket. For in front of the Wiffle-Waffle, the mailbox? ... Well. I guess it's sure time for challenge accepted! She sets out in the late afternoon such that while the sun is still out, she'll make it back in time for making dinner for Toushiro and the sun not totally killing her. The thing is-

She does not expect biting envelopes of teeth on the air coming towards her. Or mountains of packages. As it turns out, her car is blocked by a pileup. So the rest of this quest? She'll have to be on foot! Will you be her stalwart companion? Will you be someone else she runs into who has their own quest? Let's survive. ]

2. Well that's... a house.

Oh hell.

[ Is what Elda Marker says when she makes it back to her manor in Viea Village. Or well, where it once was. If you're in the area, you might now notice that there's a new somewhat large forested hill right smack dab in the middle of a wealthy area of the residential district. There's a road that goes up the side of the hill at least! But ... it sure is dark, spooky, and a big-ish (maybe 50 meters in diameter and 20ish tall, plus trees) hill that is now here in a residential district with a new road leading up/around it to get to side streets and...

Maybe you're getting lost on the winding road up because you're curious? Maybe you see her? Either way, at the top of the universal-displaced Sekima Hill. But at the top of the hill is ... one house. Well, one manor. And it suits the vibe a lot here on top of the hill. Fortunately, all of Elda's furniture was put into the new house, but the electric is turned off for some reason and... well, stuff needs to be moved around.

... So you might also be following a Help Wanted sign she posted for people to hell with that. ]

3. Desiigner Shopping (Respatrum prompt from the event log)
[ So a whole new manor and while it's furnished with much of what she had around before, it's bigger and demands some more fineries. So let's just. Shop for new items. Some of which she does in the city - Towers, etc - but some of which... well. Respatrum's been good for her finding various set pieces and designer goods in the last month or two, so she's going there now defiantly.

... Which involves her climbing that later in the middle of the night, or at least after sunset. There's no way she could in the sun. Hope nothing she buys is possessed! Or nothing possesses her once she's there! Or you don't happen to be possessed with her! All of that would be awkward. ]

4. What's in a name? (Bosuma prompt from the event log)
[ Why is she out in Bosuma?

... Honestly, the reason is lost to her. Lost with the rest of her memories when she ventures too far inside. She takes the deal to fill in the holes of her memories, but the end result just leaves her confused about a few things. Why do her senses feel so dull? Why was she out during the day? And how dare this witch give her his challenge?

It was asking her to interact with humans. (actually it was demanding more than that, but... no.)

Well, first things first, she was going to get back to the city (... what was its name again? None of this was familiar?) and - well, she's not sure why she feels to groggy, but first things first, she needs to eat. So she'll be actively stalking out for someone who matches her blood type to get them. Silently, callously.

(feel free to notice her while she's doing that, either to you or someone else. Note that I don't want her to bite and get the blood of some NPC so that'll be a PC or not at all, I'm okay with both ways! Please note replying to this doesn't necessarily mean you have to lose blood because in fact she needs to resolve things peacefully to get her name back) ]

[ odasaku's not sure how to feel about the sudden influx of mail. most of what he had gotten were loads and loads of junk mail, but he had managed to recover some of his friend's mail...

that continues to rage angrily in a locked room of his apartment. he really doesn't know what to do with it anymore and sakura won't answer his texts or calls...ah well. although he's been trying to avoid going out more than necessary, the ticket from the wiffle-waffle forces him to venture outside. the angry, abandoned mail scattered on the streets is not a surprise.

what is a surprise is the pile of packages and mail in front of a house. that's...definitely a thing. he blinks with slightly widened eyes and then shifts his gaze to Elda. ]

You need help?

[Well, it had taken Cloud less than two weeks to ruin his own life. What was he supposed to do, ask for his old job back when he had walked out with no warning? Go back and un-confess his feelings to someone who was taken? Pretend he didn't just walk out on his best friend's life forever? Just not acknowledge that he had to be dragged out of a bar, utterly wasted, by the very people he had alienated in the first place? Oh yeah, and his brother wasn't speaking to him either.

At least he had kendo. That didn't give his life meaning, but it did provide a distraction. Temporarily. His sensei had restricted his practice time because Cloud's hands became so blistered they had started bleeding, and how he had to wear gloves with ointment all day until they healed. His wooden sword was resting on his gym bag under the cafe table right now, in easy reach. But he's already used up today's practice time, so all he could do was look at it. Unless someone attacked him or something, but that had never happened and it wasn't likely to happen tonight either.

Tequila had been a bad idea. Maybe espresso would help? Caffeine after bedtime is a tiny bit like drowning one's sorrows in shot glasses at a bar?]

[ Akira, for what it's wroth, is coming down from Respatrum. Or at least that's where he's heading--towards that ladder. It's late, and regardless of the crazy events of the past week, he does have class in the morning. Juggling life as a Retrospec user as well as law graduate student isn't easy.

He feels that his job is done, until... ]

[ One of those pesky fire spirits shoots right by him and into-- ]

[Well, how can Ren resist when he sees the help wanted signs? It's both for someone he's relatively friendly with and a task he's pretty well suited for... and when he gets close enough to see the misplaced hill, his curiosity increases about tenfold.

Luckily he's managed to get past the whole fire spirit possession deal by this point, so the man that knocks on the door to the new (old?) manor in the early evening is the usual version, if with a few scrapes visible.]

[Jaeger checks in on his manor at least once a week, just to make sure things are being taken care of while he's not staying there. He wasn't expecting anything else out of the ordinary besides the packages but uh...]

[Hi, Elda. Jaeger looks partially impressed, partially exasperated.]

Retrospec gave you a house? I can't say I was expecting that.

I need to get my ticket processed here.

[ Waving the ticket, that is!! But... yeah, she can't drive anymore, so she must conquer this package mountain. Wow. That said, she looks over at the man and...

Does she recognize him? Maybe??? ]

Oh.

[ he fishes out his own ticket, waving it an less enthusiastic manner. ]

Yeah, me too.

[ but there is something about her...does he recognize her? sort of. ]

I think we talked once, on the app. Talking about kids, right?

[ The woman - she isn't to sure she's fond of the name that the witch gave her, even if it is nice to have a name - isn't on the ground level next to the man. Rather, she's been sniffing the air looking for people that suit her tastes. There's been a few, but the unfamiliar city has been throwing her off. Her abilities also feel off from what she's pretty sure she recalls.

But it's this which sees her following this one. Honestly, he's too young, a little string. But then, she had gotten blood for ... James. That was his name, James before. No doubt he was also somewhere in this city? She could get him for that? But then, he was clearly troubled, the smell of him was-

Mmm.

Silently, she leapt to the roof of the next building, stalking him from three stories up. ]

[There were many useful qualities which Cloud did not possess. He was woefully lacking in "spider sense," for example. His hearing and vision were fine, but it just didn't occur to him that something, or someone, might want to ambush him from the shadows. Especially in the middle of a city, in a neighborhood where people could safely drink overpriced coffee in an outdoor cafe at midnight.

Cloud swirled the dregs in the bottom of his miniature cup before he tipped it back. If he was going to pay that much for bitter silt, he was going to make sure to consume it.]

-For what?!

[ She says with a shocked, surprised expression at the !! incoming fire spirit to...

Ram into her chest. It's unclear if it's entering her or entering her dress, but it's sure entered something and the impact of it makes him end up slipping a little bit on the ladder. Wh-what?! ]

[ That's--

That's so not good. ]

Are you alright?!

[ Shit, they have to get to solid ground. ]

[ Evening means that she can hopefully be okay as long as the sun is setting or has set! She's still got on her sunglasses and race up front and is actually a little frazzled looking (though smiling) when she makes it to the door. From inside there's a call of: ]

Toushiro! I got this, don't worry!

[ And... ]

Oh, hey!

A house on a hill, complete with the hill, apparently.

[ And a small forest? Does that mean she owns the whole lot now? What even is the lot line??? Jaeger had even fixed up his hedges when he'd effectively moved out! But now... eeesh. She shakes her head, playing with her hair ]

I saw that on the ticket, but I somehow didn't think it'd be real.

Oh.... oh, yes, I think we did.

[ She's honestly even smaller than her profile picture might imply. 5', incredibly thin, probably only about 90 lbs. The whole thing is just... tiny.

But she hums a little, tapping a finger against her cheek. ]

Well, then we've got to get up or around package mountain here.

What was that.

[ She groans, looking up at him while trying to keep her grip on the bronze ladder. She at least can have eyes without sunglasses here in the night, but... ]

[ . . . Yeah, his blood'll be useful somehow or another. Maybe not to eat it herself, but she can store it for James, right? The familiar large syringe wasn't in the purse she found on her in the swamp, but she did have some smaller ones there for some reason. No bottle, but she can at least get some.

Now it's just a matter of waiting for him to be in a alley or isolating himself. ]

[ in comparison to odasaku who stands tall at 6'1 and well built with lean muscle. some might pass by and consider this to be a comical image.

he also looks at the mountain...considering both options. ]

I've never gone rock climbing. [ this is an actual thing to consider okay don't judge. ] So I think going around it might be the best idea.

[ Sigh. ]

From here that's another two blocks, especially if they clog up the next street.

[ But yeah, he's right. She puts her ticket back in her pocket and adjusts her hat ]

Understandably so, I wouldn't have expected anything like this either. I hope all of your stuff is still in there.

[Retrospec wouldn't just get rid of everything when they gave her a new house, right? Riiiight??]

[ Not much more she can do about Toushiro yet. Maybe she should pick him up? ]

[Any hint of sun is probably blocked by the nearby trees at this point, even if Ren himself hadn't taken that into account.]

[It's a casual greeting, but somehow Ren's usual serious demeanor makes it seem less so. He shifts his weight to the other foot, though it comes across as more curious than uncomfortable.]

I saw your ad. [Or sign. Close enough.] Congratulations on the hill.

[Even without being terribly familiar with Elda's neighborhood in particular before, it sticks out like a sore thumb.]

[Maybe he's not going to walk down a dark alley on the way back home, but there aren't a lot of people out on the city streets at this hour. But does he want to go home? His bed and blankets were waiting there for him, but a couple shots of espresso says that if he tries to go to sleep he'll just be looking at the ceiling tiles for a few hours. Maybe a nice long walk would be just the thing. Maybe Cloud could climb the ladder to Respartum... no, that would chafe his hands.

Maybe the Recolle Woods. That was dark and quiet. As long as he stopped before crossing into Bosuma it should be fine. If Cloud was lucky he'd see another one of those little bunny creatures. Maybe, if he was really lucky, he'd follow it all the way into Bosuma and get his identity erased like everyone else. That might make things better.

He shouldered his gym bag with wooden sword and headed out.]

Ja, hopefully it'll all be there! I doubt Retrospec would just get rid of everything.

[ odasaku nods, looking at the pile of mail and packages with a tinge of exhaustion in his expression. ]

Do you think this was the "storm" the Retrospec guys had talked about in the beginning of the month?

[ She motions him inside and it's...

It's dark in there.

It's dark because-- well. Uh. ]

... I've been on the phone trying to get the electricity back on? I've got some flashlights my son's been using.
