WHAT: Eren's birthday that is unsurprisingly celebrated with violence.

[About a week before March 30th, anyone who is on good terms with Eren will get a message from an Elliot Craig, inviting them to come to a paintball match at Recolle's Paintball course followed by pizza for Eren's birthday. For people Elliot knows aren't particularly, well, violent, there may be extra reassurances that it's fine if they met them at Pizza Port later. He Gets It.

A week later, the party will meet up at the Recolle Paintball Course. It's a pretty extensive course, full of different obstacles and fields set up for different sorts of game styles: capture the flag, elimination, scenarios- you name it. It's near Recolle woods, so there's even some natural obstacle courses to maneuver in. Anyone who forgot to bring their own gun can rent one of the course owned guns. Grab a paintgun and maybe a teammate, and start shooting your friends. Elliot rented out the place for a few hours, but he's not rich enough to buy out the ENTIRE place -- so it's likely you might fight yourself shooting NPC competitors as well.

If paintball really isn't your speed but you came anyway, you can hang out in the parking lot. Unless Eren manages to persuade him, Elliot be found out there- sitting on the roof of cars while listening to music. While he loves Eren enough to organize this whole thing, he really isn't keen on spending all afternoon getting shot at.

After you've spent time shooting to your hearts content? The party will be heading over to Pizza Port for dinner. Several tables will have to be pushed together to accommodate everyone and many pizzas of different varieties will be ordered (including pineapple deal with it) for the party. There's even a salad and breadstick bar and a soda mixing machine. Grab some food and enjoy! Or head over to Pizza Port's arcade area to shoot things in virtual reality. Because why not.

OOC: The invitations will be handwaved, but this is open to anyone with positive CR with Eren, any guests they bring with them, and any party crashers. Feel free to make your own top levels and have fun! ]

[ Andrew is pretty sure that Eren has stuff planned, so he checks rather earlier in the day and then shows up with the present he's managed to come up with. He's made Eren a large batch of cupcakes so those can be had at some point at whatever festivities are decided on. Or Eren can keep them all for himself. Up to him. ]

[it's not as if he wanted to be invited, but at the same time he wished he had known earlier that it was eren's birthday. it's not that they're particularly friends, either, and their last interaction really left a lot to be desired in both their behaviours. still, prompto's heart weighed heavy with guilt regardless, and casually glancing at the booking a few days back, he couldn't help but notice an incriminating 'eren bday' next to the time and day.]

[which is why he's here, holding a box that's not even wrapped, asking around,] --hey, have you seen Eren?

[and hopefully he won't bump into the angry boyfriend.]

[ so we’ve got separated teams courtesy of a randomizer, including team names— team colorful balls and team cold blooded painters. spread out and have fun on the field, gang. there are various waves and sessions to choose from, so we’ll all find ourselves in switched up teams or even individual free for alls constantly 🙌 everyone’s got a chance to shoot at each other.

whether you’re with or against eren this round, he not only has the time of his life but goes hard each and every time. a smoke grenade falls, bursting up a cloud of streaming blue. you already know what’s coming after that: eren attacks with paintballs flying and you, probably getting hit repeatedly across the chest. maybe your mask. sorry for the bruises, but you look beautiful in that splatter. maybe you can catch him before he gets away to his secret safe nest. ]

Dem Paintball
[ Honestly, she's not really sure if she should participate. Natalia in all of her one prosthetic (left) one biological (right) arm glory stands a bit off from the course most of the time here. She did show up here with time to participate because she does really like Eren and of course she loves Elliot but... it's only been a few weeks since she totally lost control of her blades and made an incident.

Should she be in simulated conflict.

To this end, she ends up waffling about this the whole time and thus unless pushed will mostly be contenting herself with hanging out at the starting point, not really geared up for paintball but clearly in clothes were she could be whenever. Mostly playing on her phone and meeting people with a smile if asked. ]

Dem Pizza
[ Here she's much more social. She decides - somewhat selfishly - to have this day she turns things around from how morose she's been the last two weeks. And so she's got a winning smile on her face the whole time here, chatting up anyone and everyone, especially, perhaps, if she doesn't recognize them.

... And eating salad.

She's not precisely anti-pizza but like... eeeh.... ]

[ elliot thought he got away from paint. elliot thought. eren, of course, would’ve tried coaxing him into at least one round just to get him to shoot the paint bazooka himself— but other than that, desires are respected. elliot’s got his very own seat in and out of eren’s car if he so desires, keys in his care. you can do what you like with that 😉

eren’s done and out to look for him, the star of the show, the one to make everything possible. he’s sort of sneaking, though. he wants to catch him by surprise. ]

Pizza!

[Elliot is grabbing a slice of pineapple pizza, sitting next to his cousin when she asks that]

[He laughs sheepishly]

Boyfriend is currently sitting on the hood of a car in the parking lot, listening to some music on the car stereo. He looks like he's enjoying himself, but when he sees Prompto- he stiffens a little. He don't remember inviting this dude. ]

Prompto? W-Why do you ask?

[ the answer is: yes. eren wants a paintball gun in andrew’s hands, around everyone. eren’s waiting on those that replied to the invites— and to see andrew come with cupcakes, oh, no, that’s sweet. he didn’t have to eren doesn’t care for gifts but homemade things are such a moral weakness! he looks briefly sheepish in his smile before taking them.

he’s tempted to keep these for him and elliot later, not going to lie. ]

Whatever ones I don't know yet! Come on, let's hear something.

[ She no doubt heard some before now if only over the phone or at some holiday or another given how long Elliot and him had known each other, but. ]

[For Eren, Elliot was convinced to go one round. It was fun, at least with Eren at his side the whole time, but he left it at one. Paintball wasn't his thing, and he knew Eren liked to go all out in a match -- which he just simply could't do He's actually pretty content staying in the parking lot listening to music.

Which is what he's doing. He's got his own docked in Eren's stereo, and he's currently just happily listening to music while sitting on the roof of Eren's car- oblivious to Eren sneaking up on him]

[ there is a masked and scarfed man (see like) sitting on one of the paintball waiting benches, taking a breather from the last session and getting more ammo for the next one— until someone says his name and he turns his head up in the middle of weapon-cocking.

seeing prompto there is a bigger suprise than any, leaving even eren on an awkwardly quiet pause. they weren’t on . . . terrible terms, but there’s still something of a strain that didn’t leave a good taste in either of their mouths, it’s hard to forget. the visor to his mask is shaded, masking away his eyes and face while the scarf just over his mouth is slightly pulled down. ]

. . . Prompto?

[ it might not be noticeable that it’s eren at first, but the question remains. ]

Uh, okay...!

[He makes a thoughtful sound he thinks.]

Well, he took me to see an orchestra once! It was really nice!

Oh, I bet! [ What with him being Moneybags here ] Any particular big show, or just seeing them?

Aha, it was a concert where they played famous songs from movies! "A night at the movies", I think it was called.

We even got dressed up for it! Eren cleans up really nicely. [SURPRISINGLY]

I could see that, actually. He has a real handsome face when he's not looking more ragged than someone our age has any right to.

[ Plus, you know, Air Force.

Shrug. ]

[ at least he’s not in the car to spoil the sneaks, and at least elliot very likely got to shoot the paint bazooka. now though, eren’s still in some of his paintball clothes, caked with paint from head to toe. he’s very colorful.

it looks like he got purposely shot at with all the colors of the rainbow. everyone got a chance to snipe birthday boy. so, he looms over his unsuspecting victim, arms held out wide and hovering close enough to breathe on him—

and kiss the back of his neck. turn around and eren’s got a splat of neon green paint streaking across his face, and the rest of him . . . a true rainbow. watch out it looks like eren’s going for a slow motion hug. ]

Eheh, it's true. He does look like he's carrying several chips on his shoulder sometimes.

[ Then again, don't they all, these days? She hums a little at that, nodding in response to Elliot, and taking a small little forkful of her salad. She cut him off anyway, if he had more he wanted to nerd about the orchestra!! ]

[fiddlestick]

[He feels that breath on his neck, followed by the kiss. He makes a suprirsed little noise as he looks over his shoulder, smiling]

Eren-

[Then he notices how much wet paint Eren is covered in. And how he's going in for a hug. SMILE GONE, time to yelp and scoot away from the paint sasquatch]

- Oh no you don't!

[He'll pick up the cue, because of course he'll geek about music]

A-Anyway, the music was wonderful! They had so many iconic songs! But they sounded so much more alive than they do on the soundtrack albums, you know?

I think I cried a couple times.

You know the more you're saying, I think I've hard of it! Basically they play the movie and then there's a live soundtrack... right? So they also have to be good at both timing and endurance.

Not exactly, it was just the orchestra! But they were playing famous movie songs instead the usual classical music.

[ Akira is on Eren's team next time and helps him in his assault, following up to nail whoever tries to even land a shot on his friend when they ransack enemy lines. They clear this section and he laughs a bit— ]

You know this is just a game, right?

[ He says that, but Akira is going as hard as Eren............. team cold blooded painters indeed. There are other areas on the field to conquer, but he sticks with him. ]

[ She nods. Oh, oops. ]

Oh, that really does sound fun.

Ah... yeah. Not very creative, as presents go, but I did.

[ Okay but... all right. Paintfall it is. He's got some tricks to show off... and all.

And yes, keeping them for himself and Elliot is good. Andrew's still trying to come up with something for Elliot for the whole healing ordeal. A thank-you. So this might be a start. Yes, Elliot can make his own, that's not the point. Or maybe that's exactly the point, that he doesn't have to.

If there's any concern for Eren in Andrew's smile, it's only in his eyes, and, well. Soul-searching is not easy on anyone. Let alone healing from losing a limb. It's been a month for Eren, hasn't it? ] Many happy returns.
