WARNINGS: Questionable food combinations

[ The Farmer's Market is something that Orihime has always looked forward to. It's a great opportunity to try local fare and get a taste for the neighborhood and town culture. Ever since coming to Recolle for college, she's tried to make it as many weekends out of the month as she can in season.

But this is the first time she's been on the other side of the table. That's right! Somehow, Orihime has weaseled her way in to a small table towards the end of one of the lanes, next to someone's basket weaving stall and across from fried corn on the cob. She's so excited!

Her stall has food. But what's on the menu? ]

	"Under the Sea" Buns Most are filled with chocolate or custard. The three different flavors of turtles include matcha, black bean (yes, you heard that), and cottage cheese.
Taco Tuesday Cookies Sugar cookies that have taco seasoning mixed in to the dough. Tabasco sauce is available in case anyone wants to "spice things up".
	Good Luck Green Pie She calls it "cooking by colors". The pie includes Matcha, honey dew, green onion, and lime juice
Red Hot Love Cookies A little late for Valentine's Day, but love is always in the air. Includes White Chocolate and hot peppers.

[Soleil saw, heard, and smelled Orihime cooking, which means she learned of what her roommate was planning. For better or worse, that means all decisions are out of her hands: she has to come and support her goofy moon princess, even in spite of the overwhelming dread deep in her stomach.

...Her stomach and brain may be telling her this is dangerous, but seeing Orihime--so cute and happy--sitting behind her little booth covered in adorable little treats means her heart wins out.]

[ It's not very much a surprise to Soliel, but she's so glad that her friend has decided to come out and support her, so she flashes the other girl a big smile. ]

[ The farmer's market, the best place to go for organic food for reasonable prices! Matt is there with his cane in hand and a bag full of purchases. His niece wandered off somewhere to go get a smoothie from one of the stands, leaving him by himself when he reaches Orihime's stand. No niece to save him now! He recognizes her voice and smiles, imagining he must be a very different sort of sight in his regular clothes for a change and with more than the bottom half of his face showing. ]

[ She recognizes him... right? ]

[ It is most definitely not what she recognizes him as, but it's his voice and then her taking in his cane that makes the connection for her, even though it takes a moment. ]

[ She brightens almost immediately. ]

I was wondering when I'd see you again.

[ She leans over her table and whispers. ]

[That smile. Soleil is going to die for that smile. She is going to die right here, today, for that smile. She will be content to, too, even if her anguished screaming later will suggest otherwise.]

[ Orihime shakes her head. ]

Nope! I've had a few people stop by. I'm just hoping to make enough to cover my base costs. I'm not sure what I'll do if I make a profit. Maybe donate it to the community garden?

[Byakuya is sure to visit the farmer's market every now and then to see what interesting food items and other trinkets are on sale. Today happens to be one such day that he chooses to attend... and it's not long before he notices a table manned by a familiar face. He had just finished some fried corn on the cob when he approached her table.]

Ah... Orihime. Good afternoon.[His expression remains neutral, but his tone conveys a hint of friendliness. He does start to smile as he glances down at the items she has prepared.]

How interesting. Are these your handiwork?

[ Byakuya? How could she forget him? He was impromptu team Captain on the bus and her first run in the forest. He's very important! ]

[ She salutes him, as should be expected. ]

Yes! I've tried to make a few different options for people to try. Would you like something?

[ Elliot's been taking the month off from selling at the farmer's market thanks to being worn out from February, but he still decided to come by to do some shopping. He wanders the lanes, picking up produce and little items that he thinks would make for good cooking. But it catches his eye to see a new stall he hasn't seen before. The food looks really cute too! He wonders where they--

Then he sees who it is. ]

O-Orihime?!

[-- WHAT. Why does she have a stall?? Who gave clearance on that?? Was this his fault for taking the month off? What has he done? [

[The farmer's market is one of Roji's favorite places to visit, especially when it's time to stock up on groceries. It's such a saving grace to live healthy but stick to a tighter budget.

Sometimes though, it's nice to spend a little bit of the money he saves on treats. And that's exactly what draws him to Orihime's stand. He doesn't recognize her or the absolutely adorable spread of goods on the table, which is exciting!]

Oh, those are so cute and creative!

[His excitement definitely comes through in the way he points at the little animal buns and taco cookies specifically. He doesn't have an idea of what he's in for taste-wise, but he's already taken in by the visual appeal.]

[ Orihime likes it when her friends visit her stall, but it's extra exciting when a stranger is interested in what she's made. It makes her think that maybe she's really done something right. So she stands straight, smiling bright and laughs happily. ]

[It's Sunday because John always has plans on Saturday, but spring is the perfect time to hit the Farmer's Market. It sucks to live in a dorm so he can't take toooo much back, but it's nice to look around the stalls on his own time and check out the stocks.

On the other hand, he reaches the end of the lane and he looks at the food first before giving it a quizzical look. He's about to ask what the fuck all of this is, but then he notices who's standing behind the table.]

Oh hey! [Always nice to see a friendly face even if his concerns have suddenly intensified.]

Burnin' Love? Some sort of cinnamon cookie?

[ He grabs a sample from the plate and is surprised when he doesn't get a whiff of cinnamon dust from it. What is this...? Elsewhere he's pretty sure he just heard his niece stressing over having enough cash for the smoothie she was buying. Was it that expensive? He should have given her more cash... As he lifts the sample towards his mouth he finally realizes the cookie smells like pepper.

What kind of odd combination...? His thoughts go back to the deceptive leg fish stew and he hesitates. He can also feel Orihime watching him. Oh! It will be fine! Sweet and spicy isn't a bad combination and he can swallow it quickly. Here goes nothing. He pops it in his mouth and hopes for the best. At least the hot peppers might have been organic? ]

[Mrs. Brisby actually helps manage a lot of the farmer's market! So she gave the okay on Orihime's stand... but uh. She's heard a bit of floating "oh god what IS this" sort of statements about food coming from that stall, so she does come over.

At first, Orihime just seemed like a sweet young lady who was excitedly selling her first products, which all looked very cute! But now that she looks on closer inspection...]

So... how are we doing so far, miss Inoue?

Well, I think that the pie is my most adventurous creation! I made it to give us good luck for St. Patrick's Day.
