[ Minato presses his lips together, caught between a yes and a no because neither of them feel like the right answer. "I'm trying" is closer to the truth, but it's also what he's been saying the past few months and the lack of progress tells him he's not trying hard enough. ]

We're getting along better. Sometimes. [ There really was only room to go up. ]
