Arlene picked the wrong time to try and dodge her own paparazzi through the back ways. The joyful bark of one of the dogs behind her alerts her just in time to throw herself against the nearest wall, but her bag is knocked out of her hand as Isa barrels past, scattering her shopping across the alley.

"Watch it, you--!"

Seeing the mess before her, she curses under her breath and pushes off the wall to pursue him.

"You're just going to hit me and run?!"

Koutarou is a regular visitor at the police station, not to file any complaints or anything crime related at all, but because he's close friends with one of the people working there. So they're at least already a little familiar.

"I was going to ask if Hitori Togusa is available..." Not that he's changed his mind in asking. "I don't think I have seen you behind the front desk much before, Furugawa-san."

A pained groan is Isa's reply as Officer Izunia comes out of his drunken stupor long enough to answer his probably. "Can it wait?" He asks quietly as he rubs his aching forehead, "Still reaping the consequences of my Friday night well into this week, sir." Fynn does a make a rather pathetic sight today. The young officer's eyes look bloodshot as if he survived a weekend of insomnia and stomach cramps.

While he certainly does look a tad ill, Fynn been doing his job for the most part when he was out on the beat. However, he now looks as if hes three seconds away from fainting at his desk now, this poor idiot needs some aspirins and water. "Where did I even mess up?" He asks tiredly as he reaches for the papers. Usually the Izunia is on top of his game with paperwork unless it's Friday. It's usually on Fridays that Fynn doesn't do his honest best with filing things correctly. That's all because he's too busy trying to rush out the damn door. Friday Nights are clubbing nights! It's a sacred ritual that's kicking Fynn's twenty-four year old ass right about now.

Leave it to Fynn to make the 'being hungover style' actually look good. His messy brown nest of bed hair looks chaotically sexy for someone who doesn't give a damn about their appearance today. It's honestly amazing that Fynn gets away with having his hair this long. Isn't there some sort of protocol to follow? This guy rolls in here with messy choppy brown locks, a five o'clock wannabe shadow, and his shirt half way unbuttoned. Hell, earlier he even had a pair of blue chrome avaitors on. This officer less like a respectable member of law enforcement and more like some movie star. Fynn Izunia, ladies and gents.

After the Retrospec debacle that had happened at the beginning of the month, Gabranth had honestly been expecting that Isa would want to have a more private talk with him sooner or later โ€” and there it is, somewhat later than he might have expected, but it's there all the same. The boardwalk, though...

Well, it's hardly his place to question why. All there is for him to do is make his way to the appointed place at the appointed time, and wait.

If he were still a smoking man, now would be a damn good time for a cigarette. But those days are long behind him, leaving him with nothing to occupy his thoughts, with nothing to do but watch and wait.

The studious young man who comes to the station four or so times a week for his part-time job is likewise irritated by the computer systems malfunctioning. Naoto does a pretty good job at not showing it, though. That would be unprofessional.

She has several folders in her hands of completed paperwork when she bumps into the sergeant. "Oh, Sergeant Furugawa," she says. "I was looking for you. I've finished the paperwork for the Grove Street vandal case. Where should I file this?"

"I was hoping you could buzz me in so I can store Fuyuhiko's bento in the fridge, Officer Furugawa."

Peko, for one, doesn't seem bothered by that clipped tone of voice, merely holding up a wrapped bento box. It's a bit old-fashioned, but then again, she and Fuyuhiko are both somewhat old-fashioned themselves. And it makes it easier to carry along with a more modern-looking covered tray of chocolate chip cookies.

She's a somewhat regular visitor to the police station, usually bringing something that Fuyuhiko might have forgotten while making sure his sister was ready for school -- probably less-so now that she's no longer in high school -- or dropping off sweets of some kind for the officers as a whole. Not for Fuyuhiko. No way.

"I also baked these. There are too many for Natsumi and myself to eat on our own, so I thought to bring some here, as well."

"Ah, are you?"

Yu doesn't ... doesn't really work here. He just comes by to volunteer sometimes, mostly minding the cats and cleaning their cages as well as feeding them. Isa talking to him like that is sort of disconcerting, both for the tired air of authority and for the fact that he's being addressed like an employee when he isn't one, really. Still, he keeps his discomfort under his skin and mostly just kind of .. looks at the other man, expressionless.

"I'm not sure who's here right now... maybe I could help you track someone down?"

Let's be real, his dedication to filling out paperwork is like one of those mythical creatures—basically, it doesn't exist. But it shouldn't be a reason for Isa to bring him one of the slim files. Quite the opposite, even.

Their eyes meet when Juzo is making coffee for himself. Turning his gaze away and pretending to be interested in the coffee machine (which has no more than two buttons, at that) doesn't seem to be effective because just a few moments later, Isa, undeterred, hands him the file he's been talking about.

"Everything's unsatisfactory to you." He mutters, unbothered by the potential consequences. "Besides, writing reports is your hobby, I wouldn't dare to take them away from you."

With a slight tilt of his head, Yu considers the older man for a moment and then gives his head a small shake. He even tries to smile a little.

"It's not a problem. You seem like you're in a hurry. I'll be right back, so give me just a moment."

At the very least, he doesn't seem to really mind (or even much notice) Isa's brusque attitude. He'll vanish from the area, disappearing into the back hallways of the shelter to see if he can locate an employee. There must be someone around, right?

When he returns a few moments later empty-handed, it turns out there is no one around. At the very least, he looks apologetic.

"Sorry, I'm really not sure where everyone is right now. I don't usually help out with the dogs, but I'm sure between the two of us we could get you set up to go."

Indeed it does help in explaining why he's at the front desk. "Oh. I hope the computers start working as they should." He knows very little about computers or computer systems...Are they not sort of the same thing?

He shakes his head. "It's not, so I can find him later. I don't want to interrupt if he's busy." His friends job is important to him.

Naoto holds the folders out for the sergeant to take. "I don't have much," she says. "I was going to go make a copy of the holding cell intake/outtake list for the records." Hardly glamorous detective work.

"Barring that, sir, I was thinking I would try to investigate the technical issues. It's suspicious, surely you agree."
