WHERE: a coffee shop (expressive, maybe???) and the park thereafter.
WHEN: backdated to early november!
WHAT: nikkari and keigo's date! prepare for awkwardness.
WARNINGS: none, other than keigo trying to be appealing, i guess.
[ keigo had put on a confident face when he'd asked nikkari out, but the truth of the matter was that he was highly anxious about the whole thing. nikkari didn't seem like the type of guy to be interested in someone like him, and much less for this type of outing... but, keigo knew that if he was going to get anywhere with his own personal hangups, he had to start pushing back against them. this was a great first step! he'd fussed over his appearance for a while until settling on something more or less casual, but put-together. looking his best was a given, but he had to pay more attention than normal, because nikkari just exuded a certain look that keigo felt he couldn't compete with. even after seeing him in his more casual hoodie get-up, keigo still felt the need to prove he was worth the time.
all that preening aside, he'd met up with nikkari and, after being a bit taken aback by how cute he looked, brought them both to the coffee shop. after getting their orders and taking a seat, keigo felt himself tense all over again. this wasn't unlike how he felt at the cabaret club... a little out of place and probably didn't look like he matched up with someone as nice-looking as nikkari. clasping his cup with both hands, keigo lifted his gaze up, fixing nikkari with a lopsided smile. ]
It's getting colder out... It almost feels like the whole year just flew past us.
[ small talk was usually his strength, but for some reason, his tongue felt wholly unwieldy all of a sudden. the jitters were a serious problem... ]

so he wraps his hands around the coffee to keep them warm and from fidgeting, and the smile on his face is definitely mostly real. just enough to disguise the tinge of nerves in the back.]
Yeah...I can barely remember summer by now, and soon I'll just want to sleep through winter entirely. But when it's so cold, why leave bed?
[time to start bundling up.]
Except, you know, finals are going to be done, and then break. Are you planning anything for it?
[he's thanking whatever spirit is possessing him to enable him to talk this much without resorting to a dumb joke or some weird but useless fact.]

[ if nikkari was at all nervous by the way keigo looked, he certainly didn't pick up on that. for as perceptive as he could be, when it came to realizing things that dealt with him in a positive manner, he was generally oblivious. someone really had to lay it out for him blatantly in order for him to get it.
which was why he didn't take nikkari's smile as anything other than what it was: a nice smile. and keigo returned it, exhaling softly as nikkari spoke. ]
Not leaving bed is basically all I have planned.
[ looked like keigo would beat nikkari to the punch with a stupid joke, but at the same time, it wasn't entirely a lie. keigo didn't really have much of anything planned for winter break, and staying curled up in bed sounded as good as anything to him. ]
What about you? You got anythin' goin' on?
[ in the interim, keigo took a sip from his coffee, eyes trained and unwavering upon nikkari's face. ]

[Christmas was always a weird holiday, unsure of how to celebrate. but he'd figure something out, like he had years before.]
If the city's nice, then we won't have to deal with anything crazy in the middle of that.

[ keigo blinked at the veritable laundry list that nikkari laid out, his expression melting to one of amusement once he was finished. ]
Color me impressed. That's more than I've got goin' on.
[ keigo, the ever-social butterfly he was, would undoubtedly find something to do in the interim, but forging plans never really worked out for him. nothing solid ever really took. well, he supposed, except for this date. ]
But, hm, I will say you've got my attention with the backflip thing. [ he rested his chin in his palm as he continued. ] Can you do a frontflip?

[he's using his hands to help him, but drops them when he realizes it's more confusing than helpful.]
I could show it to you sometime, if you're interested.

[ as nikkari explained, keigo found himself watching pretty intently, as if he was memorizing every little detail and movement nikkari made. he was interesting to watch speak, even with the hand motions that might have made the explanation more confusing than not. keigo probably would have been confused no matter how he chose to explain it, though.
with that offer, keigo's entire face lights up in a grin. ]
Yeah! I'd love to see somethin' like that! It sounds really cool to watch in action! I don't think I know anyone who can do stuff like that.
