WHAT: BLUE SKIES AND OCEANS ARE BACK. So it's time for a beach party to enjoy them. In November. Bring a jacket.
WARNINGS: None at all!

[THE SKY IS BLUE AGAIN. And after a run down to Peach Beach, Minako realizes that THE OCEAN IS BLUE AGAIN too. This is such a joyous occasion that Minako calls in sick at work to be able to enjoy the day to the fullest. But why just enjoy this by herself? This is the text she sends out to everyone she knows.]

come down to Peach Beach for a sky and ocean viewing party today!!! BLUE IS BACK!!! Invite all the Retrospeccers you can think of!!

[Thanks to a quick call to Yoon-sung, catering is called in, and there's free food for everyone to eat, as well as several large bonfires for people to roast marshmallows and keep warm by. But mostly, there's a lot of blankets and chairs for people to sit on for ocean and sky watching. That's literally all this gathering is for.]

-Honestly, even the siren's call of "free food" would have had trouble bringing May back to the beach lately, given it still held such a sour feeling whenever she was there. It was the place her ship, her home, still lay wrecked in the bay, lost to the sea. She'd come out from time to time, still, but never enjoyed it the way she used to.

But... her blue water, blue sky... She had to stop and take it all in, deep breaths and a smile so wide and pure that most people hadn't seen on her in months.

There were even some tears in her eyes, getting a bit overwhelmed at just how elated she felt to see her beautiful ocean again, the way SHE remembered it.-

Oh man... -Sniffle.-

[Angela isn't here for the part. In fact, she didn't even know there was a party. She was already here, staring out into the newly christened crystal clear blue waters.

Inspiration. It's wonderful inspiration. And the crowd of happy people that slowly forms along the beach in celebration manages to warm her heart even in the brisk November weather. If only she had brought her guitar with her, she might try to entertain the others with song, but for now, it was nice to be alone with the lovely scent of seabreeze and the gulls calling in the distance. The world is so vast in front of her...

How long has she been doing this? Maybe you noticed this strange blond girl has been staring off into the ocean for at least a half hour. Is she okay? Maybe you should check on her. Or push her into the water. Or invite her to the gathering because food is hard to come by lately.]

[ Why is this the weirdest party he's ever been to, why are people running towards the water with their hands in the air screaming about how the world is beautiful again and they can die happy now that the water is blue again... When Minato had first gotten the text, he was tempted to write back "Why?" and not go, but he finds himself here anyways, despite the noise and the people and the fact that he's got his winter coat on at the start of November and would never subject himself to the chilling ocean breeze otherwise.

He's camped out next to the bonfire, though not immediately noticeable. What is noticeable is something of a blanket fort that's been set up next to the fire, three chairs pulled up and a blanket laid over the top like a little tent, Minato curled up inside it with his little hoard of finger sandwiches. There's room inside for one more person, but maybe make your own blanket fort, as is what Minato's expression looks like if eye contact is made. His blanket obscures both the sky and the ocean, counteracting the entire reason for the party, but not the long stretch of sand. He's here to people watch. ]

[ Well, no return of blue eyes yet, but this was something she quite missed! No longer does the sky and sea look like so dull and grey.

So, they finally fixed it... ]

Ah... I never realised how much I missed all this...

[It's nice to see blue sky again, but Noah isn't about to be one of the people to get emotional about it. It hadn't affected him that much.

But he is there for two reasons. The first of course, is to grab some free food. You might find a teenager with a bandage on the left side of his face chowing a extremely large amount of food. Where is he packing it all away? Who knows.

The other reason he's there? Well, instead of actually interacting with people- he can be found on one of the nearby piers fishing. Because what's better than a hobby that can bring you more food right?]

[She's not a strange blonde girl. She's Angela. And at first Yukiko had been content to let her be, figuring she was lost in some sort of artistic trance, but after the fifth time she'd looked up and seen the blonde zoning out she decided enough was enough. Grabbing a drink for her, she walked up and tapped her on the shoulder.]

Angela, you know that it's not going to immediately become grey again, right?

[He isn't the only one here to people watch and hang out. Pen had come out to do just that, and maybe make a recording or two. It's November, and that's not the time for a beach party. But whatever. It's nice to spend an afternoon with friends, right?

Minato's presence isn't unnoticed, and it doesn't take Pen long to gravitate towards him, settling on a towel by the fire and leaning back so they can talk.]

Don't care for blue?

[After emotionally exhausting herself at her audition, Li-Na needs this. The moment she's done at RU, she heads back to Chiyo's, changes into an over-sized sweater and thick leggings, and makes a beeline for the beach.

She can be found keeping warm by one of the bonfires, drinking hot cocoa, and eating a bag of marshmallows one by one.

SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW THIS GIRL HOW TO MAKE A S'MORE. SHE'S NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE. MARSHMALLOW + CHOCOLATE? HER MIND WILL BE BLOWN.]

[ Minato has to push back the blanket to see who he's talking to, so unused to hearing Pen's voice unfiltered through his headphones, taking the time to finish eating the rest of his sandwich before speaking up himself, gaze shifting from the dull sand to the late afternoon sky. ]

Never really noticed it one way or another.

[ Whether the sky is grey or blue, he never would have thought about it if it weren't for people bringing it up; he spends more time looking at his feet than up at the sky, more time active during monochrome nights than bright blue days. ]

[What the hell is that.

Zack can't help but wander over and sneak a gander at whatever the hell this fort thing is and when he sees Minato he grins.]

Hey, John! What are you doing...? Did you build this?

[He's got a six pack of beers tucked under his arm. He's not about to crawl into a blanket fort yet but curiosity wins out.]

No?

[Settling down, she flops onto the towel and looks up at him, mildly amused.]

You really don't get outside much, do you?

[That seems like an understatement, but then she cannot fathom someone not noticing that the sky is grey.]

[Even if this is a sky and ocean viewing party, Minako can't be expected to stay still for too long of a time, and so off she goes for a walk along the beach, tugging her jacket more closely to her body to fend off the cold.

There's a lot of people around, but she's looking for somewhere quieter, somewhere she can be alone for a bit. The strip of beach up ahead is a good place, it seems, with only one person standing there and staring out to the sea. So she starts walking over, intending to just quietly walk past.]

[Minako pauses from setting out a blanket, giving May a little smile.]

Yeah, I kind of had the same reaction earlier.

[Minako comes over to the bonfire with an armful of boxes.]

Who needs more s'mores supplies~?

I think... I think part of me felt like I was never going to get to see it like this again.

Gives you hope, yanno?

No.

[ It's always great when he can answer two questions with the same answer. It's not something he should need to explain himself, and nor is Pen asking him in any accusatory way, but he tries to formulate some sort of justification anyways, just for the sake of keeping the conversation flowing. ]

Job's inside. Cold outside. [ He gestures towards the ocean, but it's really only the tip of his finger that's visible outside of the blanket fort. ] Haven't lived by the ocean since I was a kid. Rivers are always sort of muddy grey. Drinking water is clear. So I never noticed.

Hey... [ Minato shifts a little from inside the fort, looking up to see who he's talking to, if he remembers their name, or if he should just leave it as "Hey." There's only one person who calls him John, though, so he probably could've gotten away without checking. ] Zack.

[ He's not really doing anything much, aside from sitting and eating his sandwiches. Didn't really think about drinks though, so his eyes slide to the beer in Zack's hands before it goes back to Zack's face to finish answering the questions. ]

Not "build" as much as I monopolized some chairs and a blanket. Keeps the sand out of my food if it gets windy.

You're a weird kid, you know that?

[She's laughing good naturedly though. Definitely not in a mean way. That's not her style, and he should know that by now.]

But I feel you. Honestly there are whole weeks where I don't like leaving the house. And I can imagine that if I didn't have some of the people in my life that I do have, like Minako and Freya, I probably would listen to that urge more.

[But people keep dragging her out, trying to get her to be friendly and sociable and stuff. It's so weird.]

What got you outside today?

Guess you got a point with the food thing, but you're supposed to be enjoying the open beach air.

[... In November.]

Look at that beautiful blue ocean! What's the point if you're holed up in here? It's pretty nice by the fire.

I can enjoy the air inside. A property of gas is that it fills available space.

[ As if to prove that, Minato shuffles a little further inside his little hovel until his back presses against the curtain closest to the fire. He can enjoy the warmth too, this way, without inhaling the smoke that comes with the flames. ]

Used to live by the ocean when I was a kid, so I've had my fill of it. You?

[ If he could find work at home, Minato would likely never leave the house either, very willing to trade chores with his roommate so that he can do all the cooking in exchange for never having to drive out and buy groceries. There's some shuffling inside the fort instead of an immediate response, because he doesn't really know what compelled him to leave the safety and comfort of his bedroom for the noisy beach crowd today.

Eventually, he settles on: ]

Minako.

[ Despite, you know, hiding in here and not having talked to her or made eye contact or anything for any extended period of time, so he isn't exactly here to hang out with her. ]

Just wanted to exist near her, I guess.

Hah, smart ass. Alright, move over.

[He laughs and grins and then decides to join Minato inside his little blanket hovel. Might as well, if the guy isn't gonna come out and socialize like a normal person. He sits his beers down in front of him and sits cross legged.]

Ah, yes and no. My family's got a farm a few hours out of town so we visited the beach once in a while but not a whole lot.

[She nods, settling down on the blanket.]

Blue has slowly been coming back over the past few months, so logically I think everyone was expecting it to happen...but seeing it is much different from knowing it. This part of our world is normal again.

Makes for a much prettier memorial for Mayship I... -Another heavy sigh as her eyes moved to the pier, to where a buoy marked the sight of her ship's wreckage so other ships could safely move around it.-

Soon enough, I'll be back on those waves.

[Angela's ears perk slightly to the found of footsteps rustling through the sand heavy sand. However, she continues to look on, pondering off into the silvery reflections of the sky over water. But...something possesses her to turn her head––did this person come to talk to her specifically.

Angela slowly cranes her neck to the side, looking back at Minako. No, she's not anyone she recognizes, but...

Her eyes narrow slightly, staring into Minako intently.
She's familiar, somehow. Her face...Why?]

You are...? [The words seem to leave her mouth before she can think to speak them.]
