It is regretful, for human memory only holds so many names. But they will be remembered by those who bother to look.

[ And now, it's Storytime with Touchan (tm). ]

There were women helping to build the ships that took humans to the stars. Do you know where the term 'computer' comes from? A person, or object, that computes. In the early stages of space research, it was women who did the work of electronics today. They made the numbers possible. Katherine Goble, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson. They sat at tables with calculators as data came in from the stars. Imagine, a group of women seated as if a school, running sums and numbers with precision. They are the hands that hold up those in the spotlight. How would they feel? Anxious, definitely, but when the job was all and done, they too would have the firsthand view of what they helped to achieve.
