WHO: Elizabeth and Prompto
WHERE: [generic shooting range while waiting for approval for specific location]
WHEN: 3/4
WHAT: Elizabeth trying to act normal (after her regain), signs up the upcoming women's club for shooting range classes.
WARNINGS: Guns, I guess!
Let's catch up. I'll be at the shooting range around 2PM to sign up for a class, meet me there.
[ This message was not meant for Prompto, but somehow through the total glitchiness of this new application, Prompto's phone was graced with the incoming message from his favorite tired teacher.
It's 1:50 and Elizabeth puts her cigarette out with the bottom of her shoe before entering, her purse clutched tightly in her hand. She's layering up, a heavy sweater and vest on as opposed to her usual classic style she's defined herself a fan of.
She's ready to go in when she spots a familiar face and gives a slightly awkward wave. ]
Oh — hello, it's good to see you! I wouldn't have thought you'd find your way here.
[ Aka miscommunication. ]

[and, clearly, this is what she wants from him, too.]
[so prompto arrives and waves enthusiastically at her greeting (haha, what a fool), wearing his usual combo of blacks and grays, wannabe trash punk style, and camera strapped around his neck]
Hey Mrs. W! I couldn't really miss the chance of you further proving the theory of being one badass lady.
no subject
Badass... Not sure a lady with a soccer mom van would qualify, but nice to know you're still seeing extra credit out of school too.
[ She looks past him a few times, seeing the cars that roll in and not a familiar face. She motions for him to follow as she opens the door. They'll know she's inside. ]
Once I get the club signed up, then you can see some real badasses.

[excitedly, he follows behind her, whistling between his almost-skipping steps. a gun range! he's never been in one before!]
Club? Is this a new school club that we graduates don't get to have experienced in our school career? Man, the younger kids always get the cool things...
[his priorities--]
Why didn't we get something like this?
no subject
[ Elizabeth isn't sure where her friend is, but she doesn't mind the company. Prompto was always a good kid, after all. ]
Trust me, I'd be fired before I even finished my opening proposal for a 'gun club' at the school. We're lucky if we get the funds for the drama department.
no subject
[about the 'gun club' proposal not really being apt for schools. well, who is he to judge?]
[in any case, he's already snapping away at pictures of their surroundings, walking backwards as elizabeth talks to him. eventually, he turns, and finds her looking back at him--perfect snapshot opportunity.]
[he grins behind the camera, setting it down]
Badass women out to adventure, sounds pretty neat. What names were you thinking of that haven't made the cut? --a gun range is pretty different from books and baking though, for sure.
no subject
Pretty sold on Dreadful Women — my friend Grell gets a kick out of it and Jade thinks it's "really cool".
[ Elizabeth, as prim and proper as she dresses with trench coats and heels... lace and button up shirts, seems out of place but you can tell how giddy she is in her voice. ]
May need some photos in the future so we can start looking for someone to build a website.
no subject
I like it. Building a website for it is pretty much going all the way though, right? I think you're going to get tons of traction for it this time.
[--keeps smiling because he can tell when elizabeth is pretty excited about something. she was his science teacher for a couple of years; it was hard not to tell when their teacher would enter Passionate Mode over her work and interests.]
[he leans against the counter and keeps his camera pointing down for now]
For you, Mrs. W? I'll charge half price.
no subject
[ But, she tilts her head back to the range. ]
You wanna go a round? I got a punch card for this place — trying to get a free session after five.
no subject
[blue eyes look up again at the offer, however, and he looks lost for a very brief moment as he comes to understanding that--]
--could I really? Can I?
[there's a sparkle of excitement in his eyes. he's still a kid despite being twenty, in the end]

[ She speaks to the person behind the desk. They slide over something for Prompto to sign.
Upon doing so and showing his ID, Elizabeth is able to collect an assigned handgun with one box of bullets. ]
The range is back here. Indoor or outdoor?
no subject
[another optimal photograph]
Outdoor! Definitely outdoor! Just like in the movies, y'know?!
[he's excited]
[guys and guns]

This is more distance shooting... it's a lot harder but I can show you a few things I've picked up. I'm better with handguns but, rifles are pretty fun. Kickback is a bitch, though.
[ There's a plethora of targets — plenty at varying distance. ]
Which one do you want? Or I could go first...
no subject
[he quips, enthusiastically, camera back to hovering near his face area. he's taking so many shots, and this ensemble of background + elizabeth holding a gun like she knows her way around those (why wouldn't she? she's married to bigby, is the reminder prompto has to make to himself) would make for amazing shots.]
Show me how it's done, too.
[as... he gets down on one knee at a bit of a distance, photographing the moment. sorry about him.]

You can either line it on the table with a tripod, or hoist it up like so. I wouldn't say I'm a pro — not ...like this.
[ Elizabeth weighs the rifle a bit, feeling an odd feeling as if this feels wrong. Maybe more along the lines of a handgun would be better, but she pushes through.
Soon, she lifts the scope up to her vision. Her breath was steady, the tip of her tongue sticking out as she tries to calm the roaming reticle from an unshakey hand. Elizabeth sucks in a breath and soon a shot fires off. It sails past her intended target, digging into the dirt with no target. Her jolted body proves that it was an impact.
The casing of the shell hits the ground and she reloads with a quickness. The rifle reloaded, she takes aim again. ]
You can bet that I miss again, you know. Not exactly showing off.
no subject
[she must definitely have had practice at this]
I'm not taking pictures of the targets...
[his camera clicks several times in succession, taking a break to watch]
Did mister Wolf teach you?
no subject
He wanted me to have a gun, but I wanted to learn how to use it. We were living in a bad part of town at the time. Shit. We met because I got mugged and he got looped up into it.
[ As the shell is kicked to the pile of empty canisters behind her, she smiles a bit. ]
If you have the equipment, it's a waste if you don't know how to properly use it. Like your camera.
