Bright Lights, Headlines

WHO: Local artist "Eira Nori" and YOU!
WHERE: Tisse, at a local night club.
WHEN: Night of Saturday, the 25th
WHAT: It's Live Music night down at your local club, headlined by grassroots electronica artist Eira Nori
WARNINGS: Loud noises.

[For the last week, you may have noticed a number of posters blanketing Tisse advertising the local night club's Live Music night. The most noticeable part was the stark white mask in the center with the name "EIRA NORI" printed underneath. The young artist's name had been getting around for the last six months, known for her talent, her voice, and her incredible secrecy. She rarely makes in-person appearances and never without her mask. But on Saturday night, she'll be playing her set for anyone who wants to listen. So why not come down to the dance floor?]

[c1 - the show]
[The club is dark and full of fog, save for the strobes and lasers hanging from the ceiling. The speakers hum as the last background song fades, and a petite young woman, dressed all in white, makes her way onto the stage. Her face is obscured by a mask, hair covered by a white wig. Before her sits a plain-looking keyboard, coupled with an expensive keyboard hooked up to a mixing station. The girl stands still for a moment. Eyes closed, she clears her throat before turning on her microphone and hitting the play button.]

Alright everyone, time to get on the floor. Let's have some fun.

[The ambient music swells, slowly growing more intense, with Eira providing the accompanying piano and vocals. It's going to be a long set - she might be playing her full album, along with a couple new songs if she's feeling good enough for an encore. Why not come down and enjoy the atmosphere?]

[c2 - meet the artist]
[It's late into the night when the set concludes, and the girl exits as quietly as she entered. She's followed quickly by staff who begin breaking down her setup and moving it back stage. It's not long before she returns, however, making her way to the floor with a towel over her shoulders and a water bottle in her hand. One of the bouncers joins her not long later, setting a box of CDs and headshots next to the artist for her to sign.

For someone who wrote such intense music, she's not much for the club scene herself. She won't be on the floor for long, but she'll gladly step away for anyone who wants to meet her. Feel free to take a copy of her album, February Glo, signed or otherwise. She's not in this for the money, it's all for the good of the music.]

[c3 - youtube]
[Though Eira wasn't fortunate enough to get a Retrospec account, she has a small presence on other forms of social media. If you were already following her, you likely knew about the show already, and if you've decided to seek her out afterward, you'll find that she had uploaded the entire show! Feel free to leave a comment and let her know what you think! She loves to know what her fans think of her performances.]

((Hey all! I'm going to ask that no one recognize Eira Nori as Vera Weisz for at least right now. She's not quite ready to have her alter ego revealed, and will go at great lengths to maintain her secret. Thanks!))

[This isn't Arlene's usual club, but the live concert sounded like fun. She'd change her tune if she knew who was behind the mask, but she puts the curious familiarity of the singer's voice down to having probably heard her on Youtube or in a DJ rotation somewhere else.

After knocking down a drink she takes to the floor, a little lightheaded from the deceptively strong alcohol but still light and graceful on her feet. The lights, the crowd, the intense electronic pulse of the music--she's in her element. She didn't bring anybody with her this time, and if she spots somebody cute who looks like they're in the same boat, she might make her way over to them: hey, whatcha doing here all by yourself?

Or, if somebody is giving off especially wallflowery vibes, she may just try to yank them onto the dance floor proper. Come on, it'll be fun, what else are you here for?]

[Chloe was already on the dance floor, and while she wasn't perhaps what Larxene was looking for, she definitely smiled in her direction and motioned for her to come over and dance for a bit. Surely someone could use a wing-girl for the evening's festivities, or at least someone to cut a rug with for a little bit, right?

Either way, there wasn't going to be that much talking, because the music was definitely on the overwhelming side.]

[Couldn't ask for a better wingwoman. When Chloe catches her eye and smiles, Arlene grins back and weaves a path between the other dancers to meet her.]

Shoulda told me you were coming!

[She nearly has to shout to be heard over the music. Well, they're not here for conversation.]

[Chloe grinned at her fiercely and laughed, moving to dance with Arlene, eyes on the crowd while she leaned back and shouted to her as well. It really wasn't much of a place for long, drawn out conversations, but that was hardly the point, now was it?]

I shall need to call you next time. I wouldn't want to miss all the fun, after all.

[And besides, she was picking up on the fact that Arlene knew all the good hotspots.]

(OOC: Hah, I get the AU names wrong so often. *siiiigh*)

You know I'm game. C'mon, let's move!

[She doesn't plan to dance too intimately of course, but she'll reach for Chloe's hand and pull her along given half the chance. On the dance floor, as she is in life in general, she's all crackling energy.]

[OOC: I barely noticed. c:]

[Once Chloe was moving, she wasn't especially interested in getting close to the other person so much as she was just happy to be moving. This sort of music didn't exist where she came from, and it just had a way of making the world disappear entirely. It was that which she craved, and so when the hand was offered, she took it and followed Arlene out. She let the lights flash and move around them as she danced easily.

A lack of self-consciousness always helped dancing be easier. Once she had stopped thinking about what she looked like on the floor a year ago, dancing had become just natural.]

I love their music! [Barely audible over the din.] Have you seen them before?

[When she gets under the lights, Arlene exudes the confidence of one totally comfortable in her element. The chaos of people, loud music and flashing lights suits her, and the chance to show off something she feels good at.]

Not live! [Likewise shouting, though the sensible thing would be to move further from the speakers.] I've seen some of her stuff online!

[It was a field of energy and life that was a little intoxicating for Chloe, making the motions come naturally. She was smiling easily, her motions keeping up with Arlene's while she watched the crowd.]

Oh? Is it much better live then? I should hope so!
twelfthspark: ([:)] now hold on to me pretty baby)

[personal profile] twelfthspark 2017-03-01 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Of course! Who isn't?

[Arlene turns her head, wondering what Chloe's looking at. Maybe if they get lucky they'll see somebody in the crowd wipe out? There are definitely people less sober than them tonight.]

[Nobody in particular. She was enjoying the sights and the many people relaxing and letting loose, though her eyes tended to stray back, particularly when Larxene spoke to her. She laughed some at that and shrugged.]

There must be some unfortunate soul who isn't as good live!
