Celebrate Good Times
WHO: Fynn Izunia, Team Brandywine, Colleagues & Close CR
WHERE: The Outdoor Patio, Ardyn’s House
WHEN: 8/26 (Afternoon)
WHAT: Fynn makes good to throw a little cookout for his colleagues to celebrate their alleged victory. Of course, he sought Ardyn’s permission first before slapping this shindig together. There's not much in the form of decorations but there's plenty of food, drinks and ice cream to go around.
WARNINGS: Copious amounts of alcohol? Other than that, nothing really.
[The telltale aroma of meat frying on the grill is enough to entice anyone to visit the party out back. It's not so much of a party as it is a small gathering of friends and coworkers alike. It's rather low key event much to everyone's surprise since Fynn isn't someone you would describe as low key. The man's a loud and abrasive asshole even on a sunny day but be damned if he can't cook. Even with his right arm still sore from stitches and bandaged from the shoulder down, Fynn managed to get most of the food prepared for this afternoon. He's been working since morning to get everything set
Up but not without Ardyn's help here and there. Fynn might know how to grill but his take on potato salad is an acquired taste most wouldn't appreciate.]
Okay! The hamburgers are done![He yells over towards the others. Fynn Really shouldn't be drinking while grilling but he has a beer in one hand, and the cooking tongs in the other.] Better get them before the cat does!
[He's referencing the mischevious black feline that's literally stalking both him and the grill. Erebus, Ardyn's cat, is on the prowl. Either make peace with the fact the cat will beg you to oblivion for the food or offer it some. Either way welcome to the party and please don't spike the fruit punch Fynn made. There's plenty of sake, beers and wines to go around. The fruit punch and soda is meant for the younger guests who aren't quite twenty-one yet.
Don't even think about grabbing a beer, kids. Fynn has eyes on the back of his head and a sixth sense for that nonsense.]
(ooc: feel free to mingle amongst yourselves! I'll be popping in and out between threads. Characters are allowed to bring their own food & snacks too.
PM me or shoot any questions at
glacian.)

Re: ota
"Sakakura." A tone of pure relief in his tone. "Saw you pop up but I hadn't run into you yet." Asking if he's all right is too cliche even for Togusa right now. His own manner is subdued, but he's got no visible injuries, himself.

Once Juzo notices the other man, he'll wave in a greeting and put the empty glass of beer on the nearby table.
"Yo, how you've been?" Honestly, he's not surprised to hear that. It would be impossible to run into him as he's been staying in his room most of the time after things calmed down a little. "Better than Fynn, I guess."
no subject
He looks back at Juzo. "You should've seen him, he was ready to go to war to bring you guys back." Might explain why he was so eager to have a gathering and get everybody back in his sight once they were here. "You, Kihara, and Shirogane," a slight shrug, because maybe not everyone would count their junior detective, but Togusa does. "The rest of us stayed here."
no subject
That said, Juzo recalls the one he fought with Togusa just before all of this started, but keeps quiet about it in the end. No need to ruin the mood, they're not too chirpy anyways. Besides, he doesn't consider the name of that monster and that it comes from his world to be too crucial.
"I wish I had, honest. He even sent me a sappy text, can you believe?" Juzo stretches the nape of his neck, kind of regretting mentioning it. "Are Kihara and Shirogane okay?"
no subject
"Not quite fighting the whole time," Togusa admits. He sighs and looks down, because who knows how anyone will react anymore. "A bunch of us got sent to different locations around the city by Retrospec. Had to help them resolve this if we had any chance of getting you all back. The real awards go to Detectives Matsuoka and Gabranth, they were the ones keeping the fight going in the city while we all played Retrospec's games."
"They said they could bring you back, send all the monsters away. We didn't have much of a choice but to cooperate." Despite Retrospec's technician trying to say it was 'voluntary.' Not in Togusa's case.
"But everybody made it back all right. Kihara and Shirogane are fine, I checked in with the both of them."
no subject
Obviously, it's impossible for everyone to take a few days off, but here's hoping that the upcoming days will be more peaceful. Not that it'd be difficult after past three weeks.
"This was so fucked up...but it's a good thing that they're alright."
no subject
Togusa slowly shakes his head, "It's bad because I know that Retrospec is down, too, they're off licking their own wounds, but we don't have the energy to capitalize. Any of us push it, injured or not, we're going to hit burnout." Again, because Togusa pushed that line very close a few months ago.
no subject
"Yeah, we should just wait it out. Not for too long, but...uh. We could use this time to share information or something, too. Honestly, I have no fucking idea what's been going on with other people during all this time. And it kinda sucks to ask about that, I doubt anybody wants to talk about it."
no subject
"Anything really burning on your mind? I might have come across an answer."
