bingo! [open+some closed prompts]
WHO: Ann Takamaki and you! (closed prompts in separate top levels)
WHERE: All over
WHEN: July
WHAT: Clearing some bingo spaces out of the way/overflow
WARNINGS: n/a
A: aquarium
[ it's another ordinary day at the aquarium, and you're probably there to look at the fish with your family, your date, a group of friends...whatever the reason is, you're just idly minding your own business and admiring the wildlife when suddenly, you see her at the corner of your eye. ann's walking up to you rather nervously, a small sketchbook in her hands, holding a box of color pencils underneath her arm.
ann's pretty hesitant about this because, well, she's no artist. she could probably draw people are stick figures? that's about it. she's no good at this kind of thing. but she's going to try for the sake of her bingo card, anyway!
here it goes: ]
Um... H-Hello! I'm handing out free drawings of you and an exhibit of your choice today, whether it be a jellyfish or a sea turtle! Just say the word and I'll hop right on it.
[ that's a good way to sell it, right? nailed it. ]
B: towers
[ ann's at the towers, trying to fill out her square about sending something to jim. ugh. it's totally tempting to spit on whatever she's gonna give him--she hasn't even met him, but just based off of what everyone else said? he sounds like a total creep! of course he'd put something like this on their bingo card.
still, the gifts are...strange. gag gifts, mostly? does he really want any of these?
if you're at the registry, ann will turn to you with curious eyes. ]
Sooo... Do you know what Jim even likes? These gifts are kinda weird...

Sandcastles!
Soooo, sunscreen and a one piece on, she waits at the main entrance, hoping that Ann doesn't keep her too long!]
no subject
she's used to talking to famous people, but that was out of necessity for the most part. this...is totally different, so she's a little nervous. ]
Uh... Pen? Hey. It's Ann.
no subject
Yo. Good to have a face for the name.
[Oh. And man, what a cutie.]
How's it going? You ready?
no subject
[ she's a lot prettier in person tbh. ann's smiling, still slightly starstruck. ]
I'm ready! Looking forward to today.
no subject
Alright!
[Fistpump!]
Probably best to start right above the tide line. where the sand is sort of wet but stable. You've got sunscreen on don't ya? Because I didn't have a chance to grab a beach umbrella.
no subject
Don't worry, I got both of those in my bag!
[ she gives her tote bag a little tap. ]
So...I think we're set.
no subject
[Pen hops into action, moving to a vaguely empty spot and taking out a stick to mark several lines in the moist sand. A square about three feet across.]
This is the base. Don't dig in here, it's where we'll pile all the sand we scoop up and do the building. Why don't you get the umbrella set up and I'll get started on the actual construction?
[She had the brief thought of calling out her minions to get some work done, but something about that with Ann seemed like a bad idea. The girl was pretty giddy, and just a little nervous seeming...best not to add a tomato monster to the mix.]
no subject
[ it only takes a couple of seconds for ann to open up the umbrella and lie it in the sand, right next to her beach towel. the sun is bright out, so ann puts on her sunglasses before going over to penelope and helping her scoop sand onto the square. ]
no subject
Foundation first. something wide, build it up big and rounded. That way it won't collapse under it's own weight. Then we'll start styling it, and use the buckets to make towers till we get the required height.
no subject
[ foundation first, something wide. okay. ann's digging with her shovel now, shoveling mounds of sand onto the pile. it's getting bigger, a lot taller and it's certainly wide! does it fit pen's expectations? ]
no subject
[It absolutely does. Diggy diggy hole we go.]
Okay! We're probably good on the foundation. So let's start building up now.
no subject
[ the store bought buckets with the cool tops and everything. yup. that's what we're gonna use! but for now, building up building up to over...five feet, at least. ]
no subject
[Those are fine.
Once the big pile is about five feet tall, Pen calls a halt and starts walking a circuit around it.]
Okay, so with this, I think we're going to go with something like a motte and bailey castle. A rough hill, and the top of it is the actual castle. Easier than shaping the whole thing.
no subject
[ moats are cool, right. ann takes the pail and sets it at the very top of the hill. ]
no subject
[Pen starts towards the middle, marking a pretty clear line for the base of their little fort. Down comes the bucket, and a tower is raised.]
These buckets are great. I should've brought a couple myself.
no subject
[ then again a lot of things are cheap for rich kid ann over here but whatever--as pen works at the top, ann touches up the base, smoothing it out. ]
Man...this is actually kinda fun. I haven't build a sandcastle in ages...
no subject
Yeah? Same here. My parents used to take me to the beach sometimes when I was really little. But living in Phoenix, it was a long trip.
no subject
[ she hadn't known pen was from phoenix! ]
I think the last time I actually went to the beach before this was when I was a little girl. My parents never really took me out to do fun things like this.
no subject
[And it's rough. Not meant for human habitation!]
Shame about that, really. I mean. The beach is fun. But at least you're near one now right?
no subject
Mhm! Same goes to you! Now we can get some sun whenever we want!
[ just gonna keep fixing up the foundation! she trusts that pen will handle the top. eventually, ann will start drawing a circle around the castle to indicate where the moat should go. ]
no subject
[And Pen keeps working until she's finished. It's not anything incredibly fancy, but it certainly looks like a castle!]
Alright. The moat should be the finishing touch.
no subject
[ ann's already starting to deepen the crevice of the moat, digging up sand and trying to make a proper area for water to float in. they're definitely getting looks--this sandcastle is huge. ]
no subject
[But that might be too much effort for this so eh...]
Either way, I think we're good!
