Celebrate Good Times
WHO: Fynn Izunia, Team Brandywine, Colleagues & Close CR
WHERE: The Outdoor Patio, Ardyn’s House
WHEN: 8/26 (Afternoon)
WHAT: Fynn makes good to throw a little cookout for his colleagues to celebrate their alleged victory. Of course, he sought Ardyn’s permission first before slapping this shindig together. There's not much in the form of decorations but there's plenty of food, drinks and ice cream to go around.
WARNINGS: Copious amounts of alcohol? Other than that, nothing really.
[The telltale aroma of meat frying on the grill is enough to entice anyone to visit the party out back. It's not so much of a party as it is a small gathering of friends and coworkers alike. It's rather low key event much to everyone's surprise since Fynn isn't someone you would describe as low key. The man's a loud and abrasive asshole even on a sunny day but be damned if he can't cook. Even with his right arm still sore from stitches and bandaged from the shoulder down, Fynn managed to get most of the food prepared for this afternoon. He's been working since morning to get everything set
Up but not without Ardyn's help here and there. Fynn might know how to grill but his take on potato salad is an acquired taste most wouldn't appreciate.]
Okay! The hamburgers are done![He yells over towards the others. Fynn Really shouldn't be drinking while grilling but he has a beer in one hand, and the cooking tongs in the other.] Better get them before the cat does!
[He's referencing the mischevious black feline that's literally stalking both him and the grill. Erebus, Ardyn's cat, is on the prowl. Either make peace with the fact the cat will beg you to oblivion for the food or offer it some. Either way welcome to the party and please don't spike the fruit punch Fynn made. There's plenty of sake, beers and wines to go around. The fruit punch and soda is meant for the younger guests who aren't quite twenty-one yet.
Don't even think about grabbing a beer, kids. Fynn has eyes on the back of his head and a sixth sense for that nonsense.]
(ooc: feel free to mingle amongst yourselves! I'll be popping in and out between threads. Characters are allowed to bring their own food & snacks too.
PM me or shoot any questions at
glacian.)

[ Wow, this guy's as prickly as Jirou is open apparently. and they're both big.
... Eeesh. But then, she's tiny. ]
Both of us repping for Brandywine.
[ Elda Marker's old money in Recolle, though it's not like despite history the Markers have done all that much, with old holdings and investments which have kept them afloat in their stately manor she still lives in. Probably connected to some old English nobility a while back. Not that this means all the much to the woman here. ]

Did many people get hurt? Jirou was in bad shape when he came back.

I think Fynn's nursing some injuries and a few other people got beat up at different times too. Plus we all ran ourselves ragged. No one needed to be hospitalized or anything though.
[ That she knows of. ]

[Because they refused to let him drink and his parents intervened so Kenta could take him home.]
I have a friend on another team who broke half of his ribcage as well... he's going to be black and blue for a while.
[And in the meantime there is without a scratch and boy does that make him feel useless.]

... Given all the things we were dealing with, I guess that shouldn't be surprising. ... Mm, actually, if either of you are up for it, the guy whose place we're at has magic healing powers.
no subject
[Give him a second to wrap his head around that. He's been told Fai has magic powers now but hasn't witnessed it himself, and it is still sort of abstract in his mind.]
Well, Jirou is mostly fine now. I suppose Fynn may have offered already, but if he did Jirou must have said no.
[And Kenta never goes against what Jirou says.]
Did you find out anything useful about Retrospec while fighting?
no subject
Less than I'd like. More like we cleaned up some of their mess. We did meet their head of security and he sort of said something leading.
no subject
[Okay, now he is interested. Give him something, Elda, because trying to understand what's going on is important to him and his boyfriend is not reliable about explaining things clearly.]
Does it explain why this happened? Or how?
no subject
[ She sighs, the whole fact all of this is still a mystery is obnoxious. ]
We did work out - I mean, if you want out the other day, you saw it. Beat up the monsters, clear out the "twists" and "malefactors" and whatever, and they can fix things.
no subject
[That is seriously difficult for him to wrap his head around.]
Honestly, I am just glad no one was too badly hurt for now.
no subject
[ Didn't someone unearth implications the mayor was in on things? She distantly remembers that. And then there's what she found in the planetarium. ]
no subject
[Yes, he does sound pretty incensed about that. he may not know a lot of people on Retrospec yet ad his boyfriend clearly takes it more than in stride, but many people seem distressed by what's happening.]
no subject
... No, no one does. They certainly don't.
[ Still, she can't help the suspicion she has now - Jim Halloway was clearly malicious to them in the past. But this last month, it seemed more incompetence than malice. What if there's some greater, more cosmic, more unknowable danger beyond the maddening app?
She's not sure what to make of it. It makes her anger feel less righteous. She's not sure how to word it. ]
